Vista and Word 4342 1

Hi Peter,
We seem to have a problem only where access to DMX is from a Vista machine. If using XP we can open a doc in word with write permissions and open a folder using explorer. However, using Vista the word doc opens as read only Using the Vista machine we can connect using a mapped networked drive but again can only open files as read only.
Server:
Windows server 2003 r2
IIS6

Windows Vista and Web Folders support 5041 2
Started by Peter Donker
Microsoft has confirmed as of&160;March 7 2008, that they are not going to fix Windows Vista to support Basic Authentication with WebDAV. We use this mode of authentication for WebDav in the current (04.03.00) DMX implementation. Therefore DMX cannot be accessed using WebFolders when using Windows Vista&160;until Microsoft fixes this or we implement other forms of authentication. We're working on the latter.

Unable to connect 6226 12
Started by SM
Sorry if this has been covered, I had a look and couldn't see anything.
I'm struggling to connect from explorer, i just get this error when connecting to subdomain.domain.com.au/dmxdav.axd
404 - File or directory not found.
The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
&160;
There is also no option to open in explorer when i right click on files.
I've gone into the options and made sure webdav is enabled.

Ampersands in Filenames - Still Unsupported? 7162 5
Started by floatingpointmatt
Hello,
I know that IIS 6 WebDAV doesn't support ampersands (amongst other special characters) in filenames.
I've also read here that IIS seems to intercept ampersands before they can be processed by Document Exchange.
To that end, having a client&160;making&160;significant use of&160;ampersands in filenames, is there any update on the status of getting this to work
The closest I've come is through Super Flexible File Synchronizer which authenticates, interacts with DMX, and allows specia...

Consolidate WebDAV / DNN setup requirements for DMX in manual / documentation? 6176 1

Hi,
My team's installed DMX 5 (with DNN 4.09) and are experiencing the previouslyreported WebDAV Windows Explorer Authentication dialog box problem (see threads below).
Any chance B2M has a document(s) that consolidates DMX _and_ DNN configuration instructions, include helpful bits like MS support article links and a Fiddler how-to for DMX WebDAV problems&160; If we have to reinstall DNN, for example, it would be great to have any/all input from B2M &91e.g., don't use IIS subsites for DNN&...

Peter,
We have a customer who has the following problem, will you provide some insight

Upon Copy/Paste, it fails with error 'can not copy (file names under the folder......), file exists.' If we look at his Desktop, the folder was indeed created but no files were copied at all. Sometimes, if I upload a large amount of files via WebDav, and maybe if the files do not all copy correctly, I receive the following error when I try to open in Web Explorer:
Documents in this folder are not available.&160; The folder may have been moved or deleted, or network problems may be preventing a connection to the server.
I believe that the error message is a rather generic error, and does not necessarily mean what it states.&160; When this error occurs, it only goes away if I edit ...

Hi Peter,
i've noticed that in demo portal (demo.bring2...) if i try to open a file with word using link in menu, the file was open in read only mode.
The same behavior we have noticed in our portal.
If I try to save from word the system say that the file is in read only mode.
Our system:

DNN 5
DMX 5.01
Internet explorer 7.0

Timeout Parameters 4260 1
Started by pmarkiewicz
I'm trying to upload a lot of small files that end up totaling to a few hundred megabytes.&160; I tried zipping the files and using the zip expand feature, but eventually I got a Server Error message.&160; I tried copying the files through webdav, but I think that the DMXDAVCOOKIE is expiring before the files are uploaded.
I read in the documentation that there is a timeout called 'executionTimeout'.&160; I wasn't sure if that timeout would help with the WebDAV.
Thanks.
